About this book

How the Masoretes and European Christianity Shaped the Scripture in Opposite Directions — And What Was Hidden From Every Reader of the English Western Bible Short description Why does the New Testament quote an Old Testament your Bible does not contain? Two editorial hands, working from opposite sides, and the way back. Contents and details “How will you say, We are wise, and the Torah of YAHUAH is with us? In vain have the scribes used a false pen” (Yirmeyahu 8:8). Open any English Bible and you hold a book made from two different traditions. Its Old Testament comes from the Masoretic Text, standardised by rabbinic scribes centuries after Yeshua. Its New Testament comes from Greek manuscripts whose writers quoted the Septuagint, translated from an older Hebrew text. The result is a Bible that seems to contradict itself at its most important points: the New Testament quotes an Old Testament the reader does not have. The Two Editorial Hands traces how this happened. * Part One: The Masoretic Hand. From Yavneh after the fall of the Temple, through the Masoretes’ vowels, verse divisions and readings, to what the Dead Sea Scrolls have revealed. The book does not accuse the scribes of conspiracy; it shows where their choices changed what the reader sees, including the long chronology of Bereshit and key passages about Mashiach. * Part Two: The European Hand. The rules of the King James translators, eight categories of distortion in English, the two-source contradiction, the hidden meaning of ex ergon nomou (“works of Torah”), the calendar, Torah and Temple vocabulary lost in translation, and replacement theology. It also asks what happened when these Bibles were translated again into the mother tongues of Africa. * Part Three: The Restoration. Why reading both covenants from one source, the Septuagint the Shlichim used, resolves the contradiction. With four appendices: the Septuagint and the Masoretic Text compared, obscured New Testament verses, the eight occurrences of ex ergon nomou restored, and a guide to the Dead Sea Scrolls. Includes definitions, a glossary of Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek terms, and a full bibliography. Dr. Malkiy’el Yashar Tsadiq · House of Truth Books Series · ISBN 978-9914-9240-9-1
